Enjoying of Holden Beach Vacation Activities

Holden Beach Vacation

Have you ever wanted to visit Holden Beach for your vacation? Believe it or not, most individuals living in the United States have not ever heard or visited Holden Beach. It is one of the prettiest, largest, and most visited beaches in the States. It is a vacation destination that is truly enjoyed by all who visit the area.

So what is there to do on vacation at Holden Beach? Located on the coast of North Carolina, there aren't many attractions like in Southern California. You are pretty much limited to beach activities and some shopping. That is perfectly fine because there is a ton of stuff to do to keep everyone in your family busy for the entire trip.

Clamming

Have you ever been clamming before? I hadn't until I visited Holden Beach for the first time. One day we decided to go clamming and got all the gear that we needed. When you find the clams, you put them in fresh water in a bucket and it forces them to open their shells slightly. As soon as they do, you can crack them open. It is quite entertaining for young children, if you are brining any along for the trip.

Kayaking

I had never been kayaking on the ocean until I visited Holden Beach. I thought it was just for small lakes and rivers. It was actually pretty fun to rent some kayaks and head out on the open ocean. The water is so blue and crystal clear that you can see all sorts of aquatic wild life as you are out on the open ocean.

Shark Fishing

This is an intense activity enjoyed by anyone over the age of 10. If you look around and find an opportunity to go out on a boat in the middle of the ocean to fish for sharks, you need to take advantage of that. This is something that I had never heard of since most of our beach vacations take place in Southern California. The second time I visited Holden Beach, I actually got to go out and fish for sharks. There are special poles and bait that you use and when you catch one, it is truly amazing!

Lighthouses

The lighthouses up and down the coast of North Carolina are truly astounding. They are landmarks that stand high above the coast and are amazing to see. If you do your research, you can book a tour of just about any of the lighthouses in the area and take your family through to see what is inside. This is a great activity for days that are a bit cooler or stormy. No matter what, you need to take the time to go see at least one.

Mauritius for a Great Family Vacation Hotel

Great Family Vacation Hotel

Mauritius, and great family vacation are synonymous, always providing you have the money. The Beau Rivage Hotel is a very good example of what is meant by that. This is a very beautiful hotel, almost better than the photographs which isn’t something that can be said very often.
The whole place is quite beautiful, the beach is as good as it looks, and the staff extraordinarily helpful, polite, and the service is immaculate.
If you have never gone east from the UK to the Indian Ocean or the far East you will be staggered at how lovely the hotels are, even when they aren’t absolutely top five star palaces, and how brilliant the service is.

The Beau Rivage makes for a great family vacation because it caters for children of all ages, from an excellent Kids Club with inside and outside accommodation and qualified hostesses, so that younger children can be cared for all day.
Kids have their own early supper, and babysitting can be arranged.

A great family vacation needs activities for all age groups and not just mums and Dads. There is also a Teens Club for those children over the age of 12, with a number of activities during the school holidays.

There is plenty for the active to do with a gymnasium, table tennis, beach volleyball, petanque, mini golf, exercise classes with Yoga, Tai-Chai. There are three championship golf courses closeby, mountain bikes to hire, and many free water sports including waterskiing, and sailing. For the adventurous there is baig game fishing, and there are dive sites only ten minutes from the hotel.

In the evening there is some form of entertainment every night, from pianist to bands, which are great to listen to, if the bar prices weren’t so extortionate

The Beau Rivage has much more to it than just activity and things for the children to do, and it has a number of plus points that make it a great choice for a great family vacation, and they are as follows.
The rooms are very well presented, and roomy with a large bathroom, very comfortable beds, and a good selection of TV Channels.

The restaurants and food are excellent most of the time, but you need to be aware of what food and drink costs.

Take half board, but realize that you will need to pay for lunch, and with everything priced in Euros, and with Sterling not good value against the Euro, you could expect to pay around £70 for a family of four, for what is essentially a snack. Soft drinks, and water are extortionate at about £3 for a bottle of water, and more for a coke.

Breakfasts whilst buffet style do have crepes, and eggs cooked for you, but beware of scavenging birds which are fun on the first morning, but a nuisance thereafter.

The best advice is to have your room fridge emptied on your first day, and then fill up with drinks bought outside locally.

Be warned that shops close to the hotel are wise to this, and they have marked up their prices, so it’s worth going a little away from the hotel area to shop for a better price.

All in all the Beau Rivage will give you a great family vacation in Mauritius, at a price. It can call itself a luxury hotel, and you will enjoy your holiday there.

What is important that you do your research first to make sure you get the best possible price, because recent studies have shown a price difference of over £2000 sterling for an identical holiday in Mauritius at the Beau Rivage.

Cheap Family Holiday in Pattaya

Pattaya Beach

Thailand is a very big country, and kind be very inviting for that reason. It has always been a very popular tourist area, and was recently #3 in the world for tourism. But it can be a bit pricey, especially if you want to go to Phuket or Bangkok. Even Pattaya can be a bit pricey. But the prices largely depend on your choices, and what sort of planning you’ve done ahead of time. If you book today, fly tomorrow, you’ll likely pay much more than you should (unless you get one of those ultra-rare great last minute deals).

Pattaya Accomodation

If you book 2 – 4 months ahead of time, you will see a drastically lower price and thereby fulfill your planning for Cheap Holidays Abroad . The more in advance you book a flight, the cheaper it will be. It also opens up what airlines you can use, as there will be more open spots in more airlines. If you have the free time required to do this, you should also plan to book a flight during an ‘off season’. This, too, will give you further options for airlines and hotels.

Usually the only difference in the hot season and the off season is the weather. This can be a problem for some, but others who enjoy a little frugality during their vacations might be able to overlook a little bit of weather. You can still do everything you’d be doing in the sunshine; you’ll just have a higher chance of getting rained on. And to be honest, the rain is usually pretty brief and more of a relief than hassle.

I highly recommend that you book your hotel room in advance, same as the flight, I also advice that you only book it for about 3 days. This is because in 3 days, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to find a hotel that you prefer. If you don’t find a better hotel, you’ll have no problem extending your stay at your current hotel, as long as you’ve gone during the off season as opposed to the hot season.

I recommend going to Pattaya for the fantastic food. They have a wonderful international cuisine. They also have cheap Thai food because you’re actually in Thailand. Not only is it prepared by professionals in a local and traditional way, it’s not some fancy to-do. Don’t go to the tourist drag’s resturaunts. Head up the side roads and you’ll find the absolute best eats. The best part being that you can stuff yourself pretty good for only a dollar.

Top Playa del Carmen Diving and Snorkeling Locations

Diving and snorkeling in Playa del Carmen, Mexico is an absolute wonderful activity for the whole family to do together on a family vacation. There are some great places to dive and snorkel in and around Playa. Safety first though, make sure that every family member wears a life jacket when snorkeling. It is an activity for both beginner and expert swimmers as long as you are provided with life jackets and snorkel equipment.
Should you want to venture off yourself and not take a tour with a guide OR should you like to go with a tour guide, either way, there are 3 great places to snorkel around Playa del Carmen.

Xel-Ha - A beautiful outdoor water theme park (ecological park) located 33.5 miles south of Playa del Carmen. At Xel-Ha, you will be amazed by the exotic flora and fauna that the park treasures. For your convenience, there are several stands to rent snorkel equipment where you can get full equipment rentals, mask rentals, flippers and wet suits.

Akumal (Yal Ku Lagoon) - Akumal is a small town located 23 miles south of Playa del Carmen not far from Xel-Ha. You may want to go on a tour provided by one of the two dive shops in town. It is about $40 USD per person. Or, rent or buy your own equipment and swim out alone. The coral reefs are not too far from the shore and can be easily accessed by swimming, especially with the help of a life preserver. Much of the bay is not more than five feet deep. Be very careful to stay away from the "fire reef" marked with buoys and a distinctive red colored coral. It stings and excessive contact can be fatal. Since coral dies on human contact, you should avoid touching coral at all costs. It is also illegal to touch the wildlife, such as the sea turtles.

Marina Maroma - Maroma is the site of the world's second largest barrier reef and just offshore, you will find world-class Playa diving-snorkeling with your own guides. The marine life there is absolutely delightful, and the colors are vibrant and exciting. Maroma Beach is located between Cancun and Playa del Carmen, only 20 minutes by car fron Cancun International Airport.

Best Cancun Activities in Holidays

Best Cancun Activities

For daytime aquatic sports, Cancun is the perfect spot as it is a snorkel and scuba diving paradise. The lagoon enclosed by the island is ideal for sailing and water-skiing. Deep-sea fishing and diving are awesome in the open sea, which stretches out in shades of light green to turquoise from the shoreline to the violet-blue horizon.

There is much to explore around Cancun through an adventure tour to the mysterious Mayan archaeological sites of Tulum, Coba, Chichen Itza or Uxmal. A sailing quest to the nearby islands of Isla Mujeres, Cozumel and Contoy is one of the many daytime Cancun activities.

Cancun tours are also fantastic to visit well-known and not- very-known places. You could enjoy a lobster dinner filled with romance, jazz and wine. Or perhaps you prefer more adventure, and drive your own two-person speed boat through the mangroves of Nichupté Lagoon and have some snorkeling time. Or if you are more into catamarans, there are also tours that will give you the opportunity to sail through the turquoise waters of the Caribbean up to Isla Mujeres.
To think about honeymoon in Cancun is to think about real romance! Turquoise waters, sunsets, white sand and candles only invite us to fall deeply in love! Maldives – Best Complete Tourist Guide

Maldives – Best Complete Tourist GuideMaldives have the ring of a very exotic destination and rightly so. This archipelago consisting of 1,190 coral islands is home to some of world’s finest beaches and world class diving opportunities. Each island of Maldives is very flat, only sticking a little bit out of the Indian Ocean. The highest point of an entire archipelago is mere 2.3 metres (7 ft 7 in) above sea level. Because of that, Maldives are affected by global warming and rising sea level more than any other country in the world. From the sea, Maldives look like an oasis with palm trees growing out of the endless ocean.

Maldives Islands
Maldives – Best Complete Tourist Guide
Maldives islands are grouped into Atolls. There are 26 Atolls in Maldives, each consisting of a group of islands. Most Atolls are known to general public by their English name, but in native Dhivehi language they are named differently. There are 20 administrative Atoll groups in the Maldives, 10 of which are open to tourism. The list of the Atolls is below and includes its English name and Dhivehi name in the brackets:

Lhaviyani (Miladhunmadulu Uthuruburi), Raa (Maalhosmadulu Uthuruburi), Baa (Maalhosmadulu Dhekunuburi), Kaafu (North and South Male Atoll), Alifu (Ari), Vaavu (Felidhu), Meemu (Mulak), Faafu (Nilandhe Atholhu Uthuruburi), Dhaalu (Nilandhe Atholhu Dhekunuburi), Seenu (Addu), Gaafu Alifu, Gaafu Dhaalu, Gnaviyani, Haa Alifu, Haa Dhaalu, Laamu, Nyavinani, Seenu, Shaviyani, and Thaa

Getting to Maldives
Maldives – Best Complete Tourist Guide
The only way to Maldives is by plane. There are no boats that sail to Maldives and even once you have landed, you will be taken to your resort island by air taxi, rather than boat. Navigating among the reefs surrounding Maldives is risky and many boats and yachts saw their end trying to reach the islands. Furthermore, permits allowing foreign boats to sail to Maldives are so expensive you’re better off flying.

Male International Airport (IATA code is MLE) is on Hulhule Island which is the island located right next to the capital city of Male (as you can see on the map above).

Maldives Resorts
Maldives – Best Complete Tourist Guide
There are 93 resorts in Maldives. Hotels only exist in the capital Male. Larger islands have fewer resorts, but majority of resorts take up their own island so beach occupation is limited to resort guests. If you seek tranquility, the farther a resort is from Male, the less populated it will be, however regardless of which part of Maldives you find yourself in, beaches will not be overcrowded. You are in fact likely to find a beach where you are all alone, separated from everyone and everything else. It’s great for unwinding and having a little time for yourself. It’s also perfect for honeymooners.

Overwater bungalows are a popular means of lodging for resort tourists and while it has its charm and should be tried by anyone visiting Maldives, it gets difficult to handle during a longer stay. If you happen to have a stormy night while staying in a bungalow, the noise from waves crashing into the stilts will make it difficult to sleep. Bungalows are also often cramped closely next to each other which makes for challenging times especially if you’re a couple on honeymoon trying to have your moment.

Maldives Weather
Maldives – Best Complete Tourist Guide
The weather in Maldives is tropical year round. Maldives are located around the equator in the Indian Ocean, providing it with climate with little temperature fluctuations. Regardless of when you visit Maldives, the temperature will likely remain within 24°C to 33°C range. Humidity is high, however ocean breezes move across the islands all the time making it more bearable as sweat gets washed away with breeze.

The highest recorded temperature in Maldives occurred in April and reached 37°C (99°F). The coldest recorded temperature occurred in January and reached 17°C (63°F).

Maldives – The Best Time to Visit

Rainy monsoon season in Maldives lasts from April to October. During that time it rains a lot, it’s windy and storms are frequent. The best time to visit Maldives would be in March, when average temperatures reach enjoyable 29°C (85°F) yet participation is low. February is the month with least precipitation, but while temperature remains tropical, it gets cold at times so on occasion you’d have to wear long sleeve shirts and may find the ocean water cold from the beginning.
Scuba Diving in Maldives
Maldives – Best Complete Tourist Guide
Endless coral reefs surrounding Maldive atolls are hundreds of kilometres away from highly populated, industrialized areas which makes for clear water and abundant sea life – perfect conditions for scuba diving. While scuba diving in Maldives is significantly costlier than in coastal areas of mainland Asia, the gear rented is in excellent condition and well maintained. Safety standards are strictly adhered to and guides are knowledgeable and friendly. You’d miss out a lot if you didn’t go under water on your vacation in Maldives.

Honeymoon in Maldives
Maldives – Best Complete Tourist Guide
I’ve mentioned it a few times before already – Maldives is a perfect destination for honeymooners. With their tranquil, desolate resorts that often take up one small island, peaceful and enjoyable honeymoon is pretty much guaranteed. This is where I’m going to go on my honeymoon, if I ever find a lady crazy enough to marry me.

NIKOI ISLAND:The Best Beach Accommodation

NIKOI ISLAND:The Best Beach AccommodationWhat perfect timing for revealing a new island paradise just off Singapore that will remind you of the Maldives, but is so much easier to get to. The best way to describe Nikoi Island is Five Star meets Robinson Crusoe. This is an eco-friendly resort with the last of 15 beachfront cottages on the small tropical island just completed in late 2009.

The architecture and feeling of freedom is superb. Picture this...you arrive by speedboat onto a beautiful white sandy beach, where check-in is at the thatched beach bar. Next to the bar with panoramic blue ocean views are the two dining rooms with white sand floors, distinctly "no news, no shoes" for the beachcomber in you who also wants five star comfort.

NIKOI ISLAND:The Best Beach AccommodationIt will take you half an hour to wander around this beautiful island, and only five minutes to walk through a rainforest to the two swimming pools with elevated views and another thatched bar near your beachfront accommodation.

And what accommodation it is! The Australian owners recruited an American named Peter to partner them after he developed and then left another nearby Indonesian island. Peter's development of Nikoi is remarkable, enhancing Nikoi's natural palm-fringed beauty with eco-friendly design. Australian owner Andrew is a frequent visitor and his marketing expertise complements Nikoi's appeal.

NIKOI ISLAND:The Best Beach AccommodationYour accommodation near the white coral beach is a perfect, natural experience; open-air two storey thatched cottages that are superb in design, from the gorgeous Queen size beds hanging from chains to the designer driftwood timber. Everything inside is beautiful local timber, past which you gaze blissfully over your stretch of white sandy beach only metres in front of you.

Below your elevated balcony is the white sand ground floor where you can rock from your hanging sofa or relax on your thatched daybed as you contemplate ordering a beachfront massage. You understand instantly why Nikoi's motto is "Relaxed by nature."

These elegant cottages are so open plan that there are no windows, doors or locks. Even if you're a little nervous at first, you quickly get back to nature and become one with the island spirit of honesty and freedom. There are room safes if required, but the wonderful feeling of waking up in daylight, cocooned only by mosquito netting on this island paradise, is a real revelation.

That may sound unprotected, but that's the whole point. Here, you're getting back to nature to enjoy the purest of holidays, and the gentle Indonesian staff become like family members. When you sleep surrounded by nature, cooling breezes and a fan above you make artificial air conditioning obviously unnecessary. Even the elevated al fresco bathroom is all natural, from the solar-powered waterfall shower to the timber toilet roll holder hanging from the ceiling, next to the "loo with a view" of the ocean outside.

NIKOI ISLAND:The Best Beach AccommodationAnd the weather on Nikoi is usually perfect. It's only 1 degree from the Equator and boasts a "blue sky zone" that allows you to watch storm clouds in the distance over Singapore as you bask in sunshine.

Occasionally, the putt-putting of early-morning fishing boats from the village on Bintan Island across the water may wake you, but this also is a pleasurable experience if you lift your head slightly to see the silhouette on the ocean, often by the light of the moon.

And if you're lucky, you'll catch sight of a turtle coming ashore in front of your cottage to scoop out a nest and lay her young. This really is the complete natural experience.
